We did a lot of research and talked to a lot of employees across the City workforce to understand what they care most about when it comes to their job.
And more than anything, people who work here are motivated by work they can feel good about. Work that makes a positive difference for the people in our City. Work that leads to a better Philly, a better region and a better world.
We also learned that many of you have stories to share – of solving problems for others, of making meaningful moments happen and of turning someone’s day around. So, if you want to share what it means to you to be a part of moving Philadelphia forward, we’re listening!

Yes, the work we do for our city is important but YOU are just as important. That’s why our compensation packages go beyond competitive pay and great workplace protections to include some of the best benefits and perks out there.
Right now, too many people in Philadelphia rely on low-paying jobs, on multiple jobs, or on the gig economy to get by. Too many residents simply don’t know that a job with the City of Philadelphia can lead to big, long-term, positive changes in their lives.
